Father God,
I thank you that a good name is more desirable than great riches. I pray that my friend who is listening right now would be led by your voice. That she will walk in integrity and truth. (Proverbs 22:1)
I also pray that she would continue to grow in wisdom and that all who see her will see Christ within her. That they will praise God because of her faithfulness to you. (Luke 2:52)
I pray that my friend would no longer conform her lifestyle to the pattern of this world but like a butterfly, she would be radically transformed day by day to look like you in her thoughts and her actions. (Romans 12:2)
I pray that in difficulty she would be still and trust that you are God. (Psalm 46:10)
I ask that she would not live in fear but live in the knowledge you are with her and will strengthen her even in the hard spaces that she experiences in this broken world. (Isaiah 41:10)
I pray that she would have no greater desire than to know Christ, his sufferings, and the power of his resurrection. (Philippians 3:10)
And I thank you that Jesus is preparing a place for those who have placed their trust in you. Thank you that you will return again. Until then—to live is Christ to die is gain. (John 14:3)
We pray these things in your Son’s name by the power of your Holy Spirit.
Amen
So here’s your homework: Yes I know you thought you’d get away with no homework on this episode but when we return in a few weeks with a brand new series I want you to be ready. So here’s what I want you to do. Read the book of Colossians—yep the whole book. But have no fear! It’s four short chapters found in the New Testament. Not a super long read at all. I want you to just take it in—read every word. And if you find something neat or unexpected, let me know! You can reach me through Instagram at @bibleinthree or email me at patty@pattyparker.me.
