Dear Father of Creation
We thank you that although we can’t do all the things, we can find contentment in all the circumstances. We praise you for your great plan for our future while also recognizing that we will still face hardship due to sin—sometimes our own, sometimes the sins of others, sometimes just because there’s sin in the world. But regardless we have an eternal hope and future because of your forgiveness and redemptive ways.
We recognize that you are not a vending machine. We place our trust in you—knowing our present and our eternity is secure in you. We take delight in you!
We praise you for your merciful and just ways. We are thankful for Christ’s death that made payment for our sins. We are forgiven and pray that we might extend that forgiveness to others in response to your great love and mercy poured out on us.
And finally, we thank you for your word that is rich and full of meaning. Help us to learn from it and apply it to our lives in a way that honors you and points others to the saving knowledge of your Son.
For it is in your Son’s name we pray this by the power of the Holy Spirit.
