Patty continues the series called, “That’s My Favorite Verse!”
Today’s favorite verse belongs to her friend, Susan and it’s Isaiah 41:10. When Isaiah penned these words, the Israelites were in captivity in Babylon. They were far from home and probably had every reason to fear. But God tells them to “fear not.” He tells them “Do not be dismayed.” Though their minds were likely on their circumstances, he reminds them of who he is—their God. And where he is—with them. He promises to strengthen them and help them. We, too, can trust God to strengthen us and help us. We don’t have to be afraid because he is our God and—he—is always with us.
So here’s your homework: Look up Isaiah 41:10. Copy the verse down on a sheet of paper or type it up if you prefer. Then tape it to a mirror or your laptop or sun visor in your car. Anywhere you are going to see it often. Work to commit this verse to memory. And remind yourself often that God is with you, he is your God, and he will strengthen you and help you.
