Patty continues the series called, “That’s My Favorite Verse!”
Today’s favorite verse belongs to her friend Olivia and is Romans 12:2. We discuss how becoming like Christ is like a caterpillar changing into a butterfly. But it takes much more time for us fully reflect Christ in our lives. This day-by-day moment-by-moment process of change is called sanctification. And it take place—over time—as we invite more and more of God’s word, His Spirit, and His people into our lives and allow less and less of the world and it’s values to influence us.
Here’s Your Homework: Read Romans 12. The whole chapter. And then write down any words or phrases or commands that describe what it looks like to have our lives transformed by Christ. Ask yourself how many of those you can do on your own. Spoiler alert. It’s none. But as you look at that list, ask the Lord to change you from the inside out. Ask him to help you honor him with your life and in your relationships. I’d love to hear what you’re learning. Let me know using this email address: patty@pattyparker.me
